Join Stanwood~Camano Arts Guild members at the “Schoolhouse” on the grounds of Christenson’s Nursery in Mount Vernon. Throughout the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, local artists will make their creative bounty available to the public. Conveniently located on the scenic tour of the picturesque country roads through Skagit Valley, you can enjoy a respite from the traffic by stopping at Christianson’s Nursery. The little old “Schoolhouse” is of historic importance to the region, and is the perfect setting for a tranquil display of artistic endeavors. The Stanwood Camano Arts Guild 8th Annual Spring Art Show will be held once again this year at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in Stanwood. This judged show will include hundreds of works by many of the area's best artists. The Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild presents its fine arts and live music festival, now in its 18th year. This year, the festival will be held at the Stanwood-Camano Community Fairgrounds! Lots more free parking, a great stage, and plenty of room for artists and visitors. Art by the Bay includes over 100 juried artists and craftspeople from around the Northwest, plants and garden art, gourmet food, and live music throughout the weekend featuring an amazingly eclectic array of local performers. October 16-17, 2010 The American Association of University Women's 29th Annual Art Show for Education, Saturday and Sunday, October 16-17, 2010 at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds. This event is the area’s longest running art show and will feature over 75 regional 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional artists. Hours: Saturday 10-5; Sunday 11-4. Please join the AAUW for country fall colors and beautiful fine art creations at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds (Bonnie Susan Cole Hall), 6431 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood. Admission is free and parking is plentiful. Artists in Action, guest artists demonstrating their techniques and skills, will be featured throughout the weekend. Proceeds from the art show benefit local AAUW scholarships. This year the AAUW Stanwood-Camano awarded three $2500 scholarships to Rose Hutter, Mercedes Morales and Oriss Olvera. The local AAUW branch awards their scholarships to women in their third or higher year of college through the Stanwood Camano Area Foundation (SCAF).
