 | Stanwood Camano Arts Guild scholarship winners this year are
Jessica Butler and Reanne Lee. Jessica and Reanne are
members of the National Honor Society, have received multiple scholastic
honor awards, been generous with volunteer work, and have been accepted
to study art at multiple colleges. Both submitted impressive packages to
be judged using more than one medium. Sincerest thank yous to our
scholarship committee members: Dorothy Faydo, Sharon Dodge, and Bobbye
Miller, and chair Jerry Finn. |

 | The 2010 AAUW Art Show - The American Association of
University Women's 29th Annual Art Show for Education, Saturday and
Sunday, October 16-17, 2010 at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds.
This event is the area’s longest running art show and will feature over
75 regional 3-dimensional and 2-dimensional artists. Hours: Saturday
10-5; Sunday 11-4. Please join the AAUW for country fall colors and
beautiful fine art creations at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds (Bonnie
Susan Cole Hall), 6431 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood. Admission is free and
parking is plentiful. Artists in Action, guest artists demonstrating
their techniques and skills, will be featured throughout the weekend.
Proceeds from the art show benefit local AAUW scholarships. This year
the AAUW Stanwood-Camano awarded three $2500 scholarships to Rose Hutter,
Mercedes Morales and Oriss Olvera. The local AAUW branch awards their
scholarships to women in their third or higher year of college through
the Stanwood Camano Area Foundation (SCAF). For more information visit

 | Snohomish County Arts Website: Artists wanted...lots of
artists wanted. The new Snohomish County Arts Commission website is a
window to the arts in the county and we need local artists. Local means
artists who work or live in Snohomish County and Camano Island. We'll
put your name in lights on the Internet highway. There's no setup fee,
you get free publicity, and you're helping establish Snohomish County as
a place for the arts. Just email a jpg of your work with permission to
use it, title of the work, medium, your name, email. If you have a
website or a place on the internet where your work can be seen, be sure
to add that web address. Include a brief statement about yourself as an
artist. Send your info to Marsha Neumaier, Website Editor
neumaierdesign@comcast.net
